This is a stunning and rare dress designed by Coty Award winning, Haitian born designer, Fabrice Simon. His clothes were worn by some of entertainments most famous names - Kathleen Turner, Natalie Cole, Ivana Trump and Whitney Houston, as well as top supermodels of the time - Iman, Beverly Johnson, Christy Brinkley and Jerry Hall! This gown is a column of a double layer of silk crepe is fabulous lemon yellow shade. Onto this are bold stars done with hand applied glossy black bugle beads. I love how the top of the bodice follows the edges of the stars and how they are set to give the illusion of length and curves. Fabrice was known to start a piece based on the beaded bits that he would design and have made and then built a dress around them! It is strapless but has a clever built in boned bodice that runs through the torso to hold it in place. The silk is very high grade and glides and flows over the body - the double layer gives it a little extra thickness so all flaws of the wearer are minimized. This was purchased by me from a New York dealer who bought it from the original owner who showed a picture of herself with Fabrice while wearing this dress, to him when he acquired it. It only has the Amen Wardy tag - which was also one of the few places you could buy Fabrice at the time. Excellent condition
